Steps to Change to English (UK)
-
Open the Quick Settings Menu – On the bottom-right of your Chrometop screen, click the time. When the panel opens, you’ll see a Settings cog above the time.
-
Open Settings – Select the settings cog. At the top of the settings window, click the search bar and type “inputs”.

-
Select “Inputs” – From the search results, click the option named Inputs. This will open the language and keyboard configuration window.
-
Add a New Input Method – Under your current language (e.g., English (US)), click the button labelled “+ Add input methods”. Search for English (UK).
-
Select English (UK) – Tick the box next to English (UK) and then choose Add. Your Chromebook will now have both input methods available.

-
Remove English (US) – To make English (UK) the default, remove the old layout. Next to English (US), click the small X to delete it from the approved input methods. Your device will automatically switch to English (UK).

Summary
Switching your keyboard layout on ChromeOS Flex is quick and simple. By removing the US layout and adding English (UK), you ensure your keyboard behaves exactly as expected — with the correct UK symbols, punctuation, and shortcuts.
